What is FCA?

Free Carrier (FCA) is the modern, flexible Incoterm: the seller delivers the goods, export-cleared, to your carrier at a named place — which can be the factory, a forwarder's warehouse or a port terminal. Unlike FOB it works for any transport mode including air and containerised sea freight, which is why trade bodies now recommend it over FOB for container shipments. If your forwarder collects from the factory, FCA is usually the cleanest term to quote.
