What is Certificate of Origin?

A Certificate of Origin states the country where your goods were manufactured, issued or stamped by a chamber of commerce or an authorised body. Customs uses it to decide which duty rate applies β€” including preferential rates under trade agreements β€” and some destinations refuse clearance without one. Ask your supplier early whether they can provide the exact form your country requires; a general 'certificate' in the wrong format will be rejected at the border.
