What is Pre-shipment inspection?

A pre-shipment inspection happens when production is finished and at least 80% of the order is packed: an inspector pulls a random sample to your AQL, and checks quantity, workmanship, function, packaging and labelling against your approved sample. You receive dated photographs and a pass-or-fail report while the goods β€” and your leverage, the unpaid balance β€” are still in China. It is the cheapest insurance in importing: one inspection fee against the cost of a container of unsellable stock.
